Kick start a Jan detox the right way

It's that time of year again when we want to burn off all of that Christmas indulgence and look at all things health related. Dry January anyone?. A detox is like an internal shower - refreshing and invigorating our body from the inside, out and a great way to start the New Year. A good detox is a natural way to accelerate recovery in the body and repair, as you allow the body to restore balance, remove toxins and excess fat.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is caused by fat underneath the skin building up. Anyone can be prone to Cellulite no matter the size. The distribution of fat cells is more visible in Women than in Men.

The collagen fibers between the skin and muscle separate the underlying fat into multiple pockets. As you age Cellulite can become more visible and your skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity.

Here are a few tips to help you get back on track after the excesses of December without the need of any fad dieting (If you are anything like me, I love my food). A great detox routine can Improve skin, regain your energy and your overall general health.

Brush, Brush, Brush

Dry skin body brushing is one of quickest and easiest things to help improve skin tone and texture on the body as well as supporting the bodies wellbeing. Dry skin body brushing is amazing at brightening the skin, boosting circulation & un-clogging pores. A great way to smooth over that pesky Cellulite. It can make you feel good since it has the additional benefit of stimulating your nervous system and can also leave you feeling invigorated like a massage often does. Just twice a week ideally in the morning on dry skin, before stepping into the shower or bath. REMEMBER! Always brush up towards the heart. By brushing upwards, you are also lifting up the hairs on your body and getting under them, ensuring a more thorough exfoliation.

Start your day the right way

The best way to start the day. A nice soothing and warm water with a slice of lemon. Boosting energy and metabolism as you sip. The vitamin C content in warm lemon water makes it an effective agent for skin rejuvenation. This is because of the large Vitamin C content which helps to fight off harmful radicals, which oxidize the cells and cause them to age quickly. The drink also contains water, which will maintain moisture in the skin cells and prevents against dryness or wrinkles. By drinking a daily Hot water and lemon drink can be a perfect diet compliment. The pectin fiber contained in lemons will help curb your hunger, reduce unnecessary munching and help you stay full. This makes sure that you eat less during mealtime while having a glass of warm lemon water before working out will be a boost to your metabolism, which helps burn fat effectively.
